Kazuya, you’ve gone too far (Photokano ep. 04)

IMOUTO

Of course I have nothing much to expect from this anime, as opposed to Amagami. However that does not stop me from enjoying the ‘services’ it offers. What troubles me however is I think Kazuya is starting to be like a jerk by taking advantage of Muroto’s “illicit entry” again and again.

IMOUTO

IMOUTO

I thought it would be over when Muroto agreed to become his photography subject but turned out it’s not over yet. He then used it to save his sister from her and Nonoka, and another time he forced her to do his homework. I actually tolerated it when he ‘saved’ his sister but then when he went to force Muroto to do his homework, I felt like punching him.

Yuko Uchida. That's probably how she'd look like without those bangs covering her eyes.

Yuko Uchida. That’s probably how she’d look like without those bangs covering her eyes.

Well he somehow had his ‘karma’ at the end of the episode but honestly I think it was not enough. He doesn’t look like he regretted it and in fact he seemed to be enjoying it. Man I wish he could take a harder lesson for what he have done to Muroto-senpai.

Best girl so far? At least for me.

Best girl so far? At least for me.

Regarding Aki Muroto, I don’t know why but she started to become my most favorite character in this show. It’s not because she is a meganekko but most likely because of her personality. So far, although she does not always appear in every scene, it seems like her personality is the most polished among all female characters in this show. Maybe other characters will have their time, after all only 4 episodes aired so far but for now it’s still Muroto for me.

If I was a ‘Gargantian’….

Panties

Suisei no Gargantia ep. 04

Panties

Panties

So what if I were to be in Ledo’s shoes? With Chamber having the vast library of knowledge I think there would be loads of stuff I could do without using the overwhelming fighting power alone. You see how the Gargantian are harvesting electricity from the ocean, collecting rain water human consumption, etc. I mean there are tons of stuff Ledo could do to help them.

In case you missed Amy's panties in the OP.

In case you missed Amy’s panties in the OP.

If I was him (after ‘annihilating’ those pirates) the first thing I’d do is to teach the Gargantian how to harvest power from the sun and the wind because they surely can’t rely on the electric-storing plankton forever. Then they could use the power to process the ocean water to become human-consumable. I’m not sure though if Ledo is aware that Chamber is capable of doing this or not but seeing that he never saw the rain or ocean before then I guess there’s a little possibility that he could think in the same way as I do.

Basically what happened in this episode is that Ledo is now welcomed in the Gargantia but instead of just providing the Gargantian with ‘fish’ in exchange of ‘fresh water’, Ledo is also required to ‘work’ for them in return for a shelter (though he was specifically required to do so to repay for the damage he’s done to the hangar in the ep. 01). How long he’s going to work with them, I guess there no answer other than until he managed to contact the Alliance or death comes first.

In this episode Ledo started to learn about how human live their life on Earth, which was very contradicting to his way of life in the Alliance. Not only he learned about their life, he also started to learn more about the meaning of his own life. At this point this show has started to feel heartwarming but I can never put my mind off guard though knowing that this is Gen Urobuchi who is behind it.

I am interested in knowing how big is Gargantia. Apparently it’s much bigger than the currently largest carrier, maybe as big as the largest iceberg ever recorded in human history? I remember back then reading about an iceberg having a visible surface area larger than Belgium. I hope there will be some hints for that in future episodes. BTW it seems that the next episode will be a mizugi episode (this anime is already an ocean show so it’s inevitable anyway). I’m looking forward to that as well, obviously :P

With consent from the MILF mother, why not?

With consent from the MILF mother, why not?

I’ve decided, Azusa is the best girl so far. She acts like an ojou-sama when she is not, but she doesn’t bitching around and does not act like a jerk. In fact she’s just a normal and ‘fragile’ girl on the inside that makes me want to ‘pet’ her all day long.

[rori] Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko - 03 [21F9BF04].mkv_snapshot_12.49_[2013.04.28_19.41.26]

Long story short Youto has regained his façade after Azusa has gave up hers. One interesting stuff was revealed however, where Tsukiko and Youto actually have met each other in the past, except that Youto still don’t know that masked girl was Tsukiko. It still doesn’t change my mind though that Azusa is still the best girl so far. Anyway enjoy Azusa’s delicious tears below. You might need it.

Imouto pantsu – this is not a problem

OreImo 2 ep. 04

Meet Ria, Kirino's roommate cum rival back in the USA.

Meet Ria, Kirino’s roommate cum rival back in the USA.

This is perhaps the first time I think an OreImo episode is watchable despite Kirino was showing her bitchiness inside. It’s true that Kirino still shows her bitchiness in this episode but somehow I think it was toned down in comparison to previous episodes/season. Even better was Kyousuke had the balls to talk back to Kirino and she didn’t hit him for talking back to her. For me that was a good development.

Still a bitch but it looks like she didn't go overboard this time.

Still a bitch but it looks like she didn’t go overboard this time.

The best part about this episode was I got to see Kirino’s pantsu once again (the last time was in the first season) though I didn’t expect it was a shimapan. I wish I could see Kuroneko’s as well though I can only hope for that. BTW I think there are a few problems with Ria, Kirino’s roommate from the time when she was in the US.  First, I think she fails as a moe character (American and moe don’t mix) and second, being an American she doesn’t have what it’s required to become a moe character (oh wait am I just rephrasing the same thing?).

American? Sorry, I failed to see the 'America' in her.

American? Sorry, I failed to see the ‘America’ in her.

Sorry if I sound racist. I take back what I said above. Any race can become moe but moe doesn’t mean you have to do everything silly and childish. It doesn’t have to be deliberate. If you want to show moe at least make it natural so that it would be more acceptable. Anyway let’s not prolong that so enjoy more Kirino’s pantsu below.

Between a smoking hot imouto and a smoking teacher

I wouldn't call her teacher.

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru ep. 04

I’ve had problems with Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru since the first episode. At first they seem to make everything right but a few episodes later the show seems to have dropped its ball. If possible I’d like to avoid judging an anime based on my pet peeves but if the mainstream anime doesn’t seem to care about what I ‘rightfully’ hate that I see it as a challenge to my principle.

I wouldn't call her teacher.

I wouldn’t call her teacher.

I admit that I was a smoker too but it’s been more than a decade since I quit smoking and now I am the no.1 anti-smoking activist among my peers. I hate it when I see the Japanese seem to don’t give an eff about smoking hazards and went to as far as featuring smoking characters with important roles such as teachers, leading adults, etc. Why must it has to be that way?

IMOUTO!

IMOUTO!

BTW I didn’t expect to see Hiki having a little sister (after all I couldn’t see the significance of having an imouto in this series after all). However Hiki sees his little sister as ‘normal’ as he sees her schoolmates, pointlessly enjoying their ‘youthfulness’. Again, I do agree with his view and at the same time I envy him for having a hot imouto.

Imouto pantsu!

Imouto pantsu!

Back to the smoking part again, it was the reason I avoided watching GTO anime in the first place, because I followed the manga closely and found the author (Tooru Fujisawa) kept using the smoking as the gesture of being ‘cool’. In this show I was sad not only because of the bitch teacher is smoking but also because she refuses to acknowledge Hiki’s view on reality while at the same time thinks that he needs to be ‘corrected’. I don’t see a problem at all with Hiki and if it’s me I’d say it’s her the one who needs to be corrected and also needs to respect other people’s preferences.

My preferred “Killing Goods”

A 'victim' (more like an 'Instead') for a Killing Goods in the form of a Book of Justice.

So I just watched Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge ep. 04 yesterday and once again the thought of having my ‘trademark’ weapon came up in my mind. The last time I was thinking of the same thing was when I was watching Puella Magi Madoka Magica. I have seen people giving the “6th magical girl” in Madoka Magica doujin a war axe or war hammer and to be honest I’m out of any idea of what magical weapon would be best to suit me as a mahou shounen.

Iwai-chan was so cute that it could make me kill somebody! Lucky I don't have a "Killing Goods' with me (yet)!

Iwai-chan was so cute that it could make me kill somebody! Lucky I don’t have a “Killing Goods’ with me (yet)!

Initially my preferred magical weapon was fighting gloves similar to those worn by Tifa Lockhart (FFVII) and Zell Dincht (FFVIII) because I’m a close-combat type fighter (after all my magic was space and gravity manipulation so a long-range target should not be a problem either). Besides using just punches and kicks would suite me better as a “rogue hero” (Hagure Yuusha no Estetica anyone?). However I was thinking what if I still need a proper weapon but still retain my reputation as a rogue hero?

An oppailicious (but blind) 'Author'. This woman uses a piano to kill people, no kidding.

An oppailicious (but blind) ‘Author’. This woman uses a piano to kill people, no kidding.

Then a pickaxe came to my mind. One influence I could attribute to for this idea would be Akane Isshiki (Vividred Operation) using a boomerang as her weapon. When I think about it a pickaxe could kill and I could use it as a throwing weapon too, which makes long-range target not a problem at all (and as a mahou shounen I could create virtually unlimited of them, just like Mami-san)!

A 'victim' (more like an 'Instead') for a Killing Goods in the form of a Book of Justice.

A ‘victim’ (more like an ‘Instead’) for a Killing Goods in the form of a Book of Justice.

Some might argue that a pickaxe is not a ‘proper’ weapon. This is where Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge come into the picture again. In episode 03 the sledgehammer used by one criminal to hunt Iwai-chan wasn’t a ‘proper’ weapon either but who cares if it, as a “Killing Good” can be used as a weapon, just like how you can use a kitchen knife to kill people although that isn’t what it was intended for? Also in this episode 04 we even saw another two “very unlikely” Killing Goods; a piano and a book.

As a “Killing Good” it’s scary to think that music from a piano and words from a book could kill too. Just remember in episode 03 Kiri used his scissors to ‘cut’ his opponent so easily as if he was cutting through hair or a piece of paper. That’s the power of “Killing Goods”; just imagine if I have a pair of pickaxes with that power. I’d be very awesome as a mahou shounen and also as a rogue hero.

Clash of The Philosophies

At least she's sexy.

Suisei no Gargantia ep. 03

Random 'diagram' showing you the characters' age (female only).

Random ‘diagram’ showing you the characters’ age (female only).

After watching the first 2 episodes I thought this show was going to be a straight good vs. evil anime. I even ready to complain about the absence of philosophy but then ep. 03 arrived. I am glad that philosophy was there and from now on things are going to be more interesting and even nasty.

Basically what happened in ep. 03.

Basically what happened in ep. 03. Hypocrite much?

In my previous reviews I did say that I have no real complain about this show, until I watched ep. 03. I’m not complaining about the story itself but about the Gargantian’s stupidity in judging Led’s action against the pirates. They were clearly at disadvantages and outnumbered back then and I believe killing was the most effective measure in order to turn the tide because those pirates already hijacked the excavator ship. Even if he didn’t kill them they would have taken Bellows and her crews hostage or threaten to hurt/kill them to force Ledo and Gargantian army to back off.

Lady 'Rackage' and here 'slaves'. I guess she also have the male crews as her sex slaves?

Lady ‘Wreckage’ and here ‘slaves’. I guess she also have the male crews as her sex slaves?

Upon hearing Bellows’ explanation later, it came to my understanding that it almost sounds like they were willing to be kidnapped as long as the pirates spare the rest. Isn’t that stupid? In the end I still think killing was the most reasonable action and in fact it could scare the pirates so that they won’t touch them anymore as Led alone has enough power to destroy them in an instant. That said Ledo’s action has my support, in the light that once he started something he has to finish it. Wipe all the pirates once and for all.

Looks like those 'slaves' weren't really enslaved; they'd fight under her command!

Looks like those ‘slaves’ weren’t really enslaved; they’d fight under her command!

Anyway let’s get back to the story. After giving it much thought they allowed Ledo to help them again and with that they managed to defeat the pirates fleet although they could have avoided the unnecessary battle had them allowed Ledo to finish those pirates sooner. Now I’m only worrying about Chamber (Ledo’s mecha) having faulty parts though that is very unlikely to happen because from how it looks like, it is capable of self-maintenance.

Lady 'Rackage' inside her own mecha. Of course it's no match to Chamber no matter how advanced it is over other 'yunboroids'.

Lady ‘Wreckage’ inside her own mecha. Of course it’s no match to Chamber no matter how advanced it is over other ‘yunboroids’.

Come to think of it this show reminds me of a completely unrelated show, none other but my all-time favorite, Puella Magi Madoka Magica. Both shows are written by Gen Urobuchi, and somehow, similar to Madoka Magica, I think Suisei no Gargantia also took 3 episodes to display its real ‘face’. Knowing how Urobuchi I must expect to see something similar to what I experienced in Madoka Magica.

At least she's sexy.

At least she’s sexy. I wonder what’s her real name? ‘Wreckage’ (as with her capability to turn fleets into shipwrecks?) or ‘Rackage’ (because she got awesome ‘racks’?). Whatever.

{Review} OreImo 2 ep. 03 – The best OreImo episode so far

Saori is really a model-like beauty.

After the worse (if not the worst) episode last week I finally got to see the best OreImo episode that I think none of the episodes from the first season could come close to this. One of the biggest things in this series happened in this episode and it was merrier with more characters although those are just minor characters. Anyway this was really enjoyable and it was perhaps the first OreImo episode I could watch repeatedly (something that never happened before).

Saori is really a model-like beauty.

Saori is really a model-like beauty (complete with a tall body).

The ‘best’ and the biggest thing I’m talking about earlier was I finally got to see Saori’s real face after so many years waiting (since the first season was aired to be exact). I know she is beautiful as many official and ‘unofficial’ artworks have suggested but those are nothing if compared to the anime version. I even got to see the loli version of her and witnessed her bittersweet past that eventually turned her into an otaku as we know her today.

Loli Saori.

Loli Saori.

Other than that this episode brought back Kuroneko after her absence last week though she wasn’t having significant role in this episode. Also Kirino’s bitchiness was absent as well, which is very much welcomed (if only they could keep it this way). Now I want to see more of Saori’s real face (not that I hate her otaku appearance but I personally prefer to see her like this).

{Cosplay} Shingeki no Kyojin

The cosplay.

I was supposed to write the review for OreImo ep. 03 or Suisei no Gargantia ep. 03 today because it was what I planned to do yesterday. However just now I stumbled upon this cosplay pic in my G+ stream. I don’t know the original source or the name of the cosplayers (probably from China) so if you have an info for this please let me know.

The cosplay.

The cosplay.

Just look at them, they really resemble Eren and Mikasa, even their faces are just perfect, as if both characters have been brought into real world (for comparison, look at the screenshots taken from the anime ED below). The one cosplaying Eren however looks a bit feminine to my eyes, probably is a female cosplayer. Anyway I have no problem with that, and I wouldn’t even mind with guys cosplaying girls as longs as they are doing it right (been exposed to cross-dressed visual kei dudes since I was middle school anyway).

[Religion] Life and Death: What is the Big Deal With Eternal Damnation?

Hello, it’s your sporadic poster again. I know I haven’t been posting much of anything, but I don’t get inspiration from heaven that much (bad joke, I know, but bear with me). I got especially depressed when the contents of my HDD was mysteriously wiped by Wondows 8 (I still detest Wondows, but now, I have more passion in my hatred of it) as I was copying files from it, and accidentally moved the USB cable, and was then suddenly enlightened (not), and decided to write this post (I use ‘and’ a lot). While I’m aware that these threats of eternal damnation were actually meant as a deterrent for crimes, most people still do commit them. I wonder why.

So many religions prey on the fears of the people and what happens after death. For now, we will focus on eternal damnation as it seems to be the most popular. Let’s say, for the sake of argument, a person ends up in Hell and gets to be tortured eternally. How would that function? Would it not be redundant after, say, perhaps a hundred year of the same kind of torture? It is within human nature to adapt, and the mind is far stronger than anything.

So long as the mind remains intact (in order for the punishment be effective), the punishment will become useless after a period of time. Then what? Change in method will only produce the same effect, pain at first, then normal, boring routine afterwards.

If, let’s say, the mind was broken, the punishments would then be even more useless, as the recipient doesn’t even know what’s happening anymore. Somehow, eternal damnation sounds more boring than it is morbid now, doesn’t it? Since, the punished soul is supposedly immor(t)al, they cannot die, only feel pain. Though, the same argument could be used for eternal happiness.

What is “happiness”? According to the Concise Oxford English Dictionary (Eleventh Edition), the word “happy” could mean:

1. feeling or showing pleasure or contentment -> willing to do or accept something
2. fortunate or convenient
3. [in combination] informal inclined to use a specified thing excessively or at random

I get the feeling that what people mean is the first meaning. Still, the same thing. You feel happy, you want more, you become happier, but for how long? Even with the infinite sources of Heaven (or Paradise, or Garden of Eden, or whatever else it’s called, take your pick), you will, eventually get bored (why do you think God forbade humans from eating from the Tree of Life?). It might take a thousand years, it may take a million years, but you will get bored, start to learn all the knowledge in all the worlds (I love them parallel universes, can’t get enough of them), then get bored again as you will have nothing to do. Unless human mechanics change when we die and stuff, these arguments (might) hold true.

The main reason (I think), that we are able to live on as human beings (whatever that is), is because we can die, and that short life is all that we know of, and that we have (some form of) control over, and as we work hard, we forget, we enjoy, we hurt, we laugh, we cry, we love, we live.

Though, in the end, when we die, no one knows for sure what happens, we can only hope and pray in whatever belief we may hold.
