I think most creatures concentrate fully on survival and procreation, while humans deny many of their basic instincts as they function within society. That's why we need ethics and moral rules forbidding certain actions while promoting others. But many people need assurance that good deeds will pay of in some way and bad deeds will be punished, else they would find it difficult to do what is considered right instead of what is easy. An image of the afterlife also brings comfort when facing death/the unknown.

So this is what it feels like to have a reply. Well, the Lad always have walked with us, so in this current plane of existence, at least, that is what I believe. The biggest reason I wrote this post was I saw the stupid things people do, all in the name of religion and their desperation for rewards and desire to not be damned eternally. In regards to true solitude, as described by you earlier, didn't Dante's Inferno (not the game) portray that there are plenty of company in Hell, suffering together? Though they may not recognize each other, if they even acknowledge each other's presence that is.

Though, since I don't know what really happens after death, I can only return to my final paragraph of the post.

Eternal damnation being about physical pain seems a most silly idea, and it was/is only presented as such by priests trying to reach out to the common folk, whose powers of imagination might not be great. Some think there is little use in preaching of spiritual anguish to those who do not, as a rule, ruminate spiritual matters.

Since hell come about by ultimate rejection of God, one of its horrors is God's absence and the resulting true solitude. There might be loners out there who feel best in their own company (yours truly included to a large extent), but in fact God has never left any one person in this world for even one second, be they sinners, atheists or anyone else, so the loneliness of eternal damnation is necessarily without precedent and beyond the imagination of any of the living.

Of course, the anguish described in the paragraph above would be just one aspect of eternal damnation, but I just mention it to point in the direction I understand the "flames of hell" to be, rather than matters that could be easily paralleled to the physical.

The second LN has been translated into English.

http://ultimatemegax.wordpress.com/2012/12/10/chuunibyou-demo-koi-ga-shitai-2-novel-translation/

If Satone does appear in season 2, this means that Love Rival is going to be a key component of that season (which is a logical progression for a Post-Confession Rom-com) . She's a very different breed of Chuunibyou - I'd say, she's the same type of character as Haruhi Suzumiya in many aspects.

Also, Satone is to Yuuta what Rikka was to Dekomori, in terms of Chuunibyou, when Yuuta was in Middle School.

Apparently, Satone moved in her third year - to the school Nibutani was in. And in doing so, she therefore influenced both Nibutani and Yuuta - a common thread that links both of them - this is in the LN.

As for the anime though, there's alot of material they could take from the Light Novels, if they were going for that. If this is Season 2, personally, I'm predicting that the first half would revolve around fairly typical Post-confession Rom-com hijinks with a Chuunibyou twist.

If Satone is going to appear, I speculate we might well get further insights into Nibutani's own brand of Chuunibyou, seeing that Satone exerted a huge influence on Nibutani's Chuunibyou. That's another direction the anime could go, and using that, could link Satone back to the Anime version of events. Perhaps the Mabinoglion, that massive book that Dekomori made out of Nibutani's middle school Chuunibyou ramblings might be the key.

The second half may well be a Love-rival arc. Satone moves in, and makes a move for Yuuta (this had quite a spectacular climax in the LN).

The problematic thing however, is the flashback scene where Yuuta confessed to a girl in Middle School. Which seems quite unlikely, IMO, if indeed, Satone was Yuuta's middle-school Chuunibyou partner. Unless, of course, the character design has changed.... and Yuuta's Chuunibyou confession was either rejected, or put on hold.

If that is the case, the season may well be deliciously ironic. Imagine coming back after one and a half years, wanting a romantic relationship with your old friend, only to find that in the meantime, he acquired a girl-friend.....

These are all speculations of course.

Satone Schimimiya is a new character in the second volume of the LN, and something I think many LN readers hope would be in rhe second season. Lot's of material to draw a second from, concerning her - this is what I was referring to. If you don't mind getting spoiled, you could just look her up

She's Yuuta's Middle School Chuunibyou partner in the first and second year, and Nibutani's influence in the third year. If she appears in the anime, just reconciling her to the anime backstory would be quite challenging, and interesting IMO.

I think Yuuta already explained (at least to Rikka) what led him to his delusions when they were in the train, though it wasn't as detailed as Kumin's explanation (about Rikka's delusions). Even if there will be a more detailed explanation I bet it won't be as interesting as Rikka's. I'm actually more interested to know about Nibutani and Dekomori.

I'd love to see that. I mean the playing field is kinda 'uneven' right now with Yozora always being the winner though it's also kinda fair also since Sena already got nearly everything most other people could only dream of (being super rich, having good grades, excel at sports). Anyway I don't think Yozora (as well as Kodaka) is too unfortunate either in terms of wealthiness because it's clear that their school is an elite school where only rich people could afford to enroll.
