[Project 360] Daily serving of ‘Meat’ – Day 85 #Project360

There’s been a steady decline of new production/submission of Sena-related artworks in pixiv. The NSFW ones are still abundant (not to mention the uglee ones too) but there’s a noticeable lack of ‘safe’ artworks for the said subject lately. Even the above pic is not from pixiv and I don’t know the original source either. Other BokuTomo-related artworks are still being produced but Sena-specific ones are significantly reduced in number. At this rate I might have to stop serving you with fresh ‘Meat’ by Q2 of this year. I hope people, especially Japanese fanartists would keep up producing it because I don’t want to see any gap until the next season of BokuTomo is aired (assuming that the second is in planning or in the making).

[12 Days of Anime] Day 5 – We Don’t Have Many Friends (BokuTomo ep .12 finale)

Yozora only gets sexier with that short haircut (>_<)

The anime is finally over, but my love towards it will just continue. BokuTomo ended with the mix of good laughs, touching scenes and of course a few moe moments too.  It may not ended in the way I wished it would be (for it to take the romance path) but this is something I’ve expected. However this is also a good thing as this could be a hint that the second season might follow soon. And I really hope the second season will become real as I really want to see the conclusion between Kodaka and those girls so bad!

Yozora's teary eyes, this will definitely become one of the most memorable scenes to me (^_^)

I personally think Yozora with short hair seems more feminine than she was. In this episode not only the voice acting sounded a bit more ‘girlish’, she also acted like a girl whom just met her long-lost boyfriend. Yes, Yozora also have that part in her and I like how she blushes so many times in the first half of the episode. The funnies part in this episode is when their fellow classmates misunderstood the reason Yozora cut her hair when she was explaining it to Kodaka. For a moment it made me feel like how I wish I was there in the class :P

Yozora's unforgettable expression, it's as if she's just heard a love confession from Kodaka (^_^)

After we had a very touching moments of the ‘real’ reunion of Yozora and Kodaka, we’re presented with scenes for good laughs. First we had the ‘Mad Scientist’ mistook Yozora as a random hunk (and consequently had ‘orgasm’ from the thoughts of it). Even Yukimura also fell to Yozora’s “trap” appearance. The only person who knew right away it was Yozora is ironically Yozora’s ‘enemy’ none other than Niku. Niku found this as something ‘trollable’ and even made some funny assumptions for the reason Yozora cut her hair but of course Yozora is the better troll than her :P

'Meat' is making fun of Yozora, only to get trolled back before she could finish laughing :P

If the ep. 09 was “Sena’s episode” then this episode is Yozora’s. In fact I think this is the first time Yozora being the center of the episode. Everything about Yozora’s and Kodaka’s shared past is now clear. Yozora may appear to be stubborn sometimes but in this episode I started to see some of her reasoning behind it. Kodaka also has learned to accept Yozora as she is.

This is the best! Loli Yozora from 10 years ago who was too shy to tell Kodaka that she's actually a girl (^_^)

BTW if we recall all the previous episodes, I must say episodes 01-10 are ‘funny’ episodes, ep. 11 is an emotionally touching episode while this final episode combines both funny and touching moments. I think those moments arrived just at the right place and didn’t feel awkward at all. This is one of the anime I hardly get bored of even after repeating it many times. Maybe not the best for everybody but definitely one of the best for me. We had some depressing moments with Madoka Magica and Steins;Gate earlier this year so having finished this anime right before the new year is right at its time as well as a good way to end the year.

Nendoroid Mikazuki Yozora

I'm hoping to see you again next time! (^_^)

[12 Days of Anime] Day 3 – Cosplay: Yozora Mikazuki of BokuTomo by MIYUKO

I’ve tried to do this cosplay review since last month but I just didn’t know where to start because the Spiral Cats Team suddenly became so ‘productive’ that I barely could cope up with them. Now that the 12 Days of Anime event is here I’m taking this opportunity to blog this anyway.

If you’ve followed my blog posts you might already know that MIYUKO is my favorite cosplayer, even topped many notable Japanese cosplayers in my personal cosplayer chart. Gifted with what I refer to as “thousand faces” she is perfect for almost any character she could cosplay.

When MIYUKO does a cosplay, or any cosplay for that matter, I always have very little complain or none at all. Just look at the picture above, where at this point it’s “perfectly perfect”.

Have you watched the anime Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai? Or at least read the light novel? If you haven’t then I think you should. If you think MIYUKO as Yozora above is very beautiful, then I have to tell you too that Yozora is the most beautiful ‘troll’ ever.

Nobody’s perfect. I did say that MIYUKO made a perfect cosplay but in the picture above the ‘imperfection’ is visible, if you can notice it. You know Yozora usually has several pink ribbons tied to the ends of her hair that maybe barely noticeable because of her waist-length hair. I wonder how many years she’s been keeping it that it has grown that long. Maybe since Kodaka left the city, which is 10 years to be exact? Back to the hair business, some people might argue that there are also times where Yozora didn’t have those ribbons but you should realize to that when in her school uniform Yozora ALWAYS have them. Not a big deal of course but I have to deduct some points anyway.

Well as long as nobody noticed the absence of those ribbons then I think it’s fine. I’m no perfectionist either so I guess it’s fine as well but still not enough for me to dismiss the fact that they’re absent, though enough for me to give her an ‘A’. Man I still have some more new cosplay by MIYUKO I’d like to review. I hope I’d be able to do it before the end of the year.

[12 Days of Anime] Day 2 – You See, Girls Wearing Yukata are Extremely Cute (゚∀゚) (BokuTomo ep. 11)

Weekly serving of 'Meat'.

Not the funniest episode (if compared to those been aired before) but definitely the most touching one. ‘Meat’ didn’t get trolled this time but this reminded me of episode 6 (the karaoke episode) where we saw Yozora & Sena competing against each other, this time in games held in one summer festival. Also just like the karaoke episode both of them competed almost evenly, alternating the winner position between each other, and of course none of them would accept defeat.

Duel

In this episode we got to see the female characters, with exception of Yozora, wearing yukata as they go to the summer festival. Man how I really wanted to see Yozora in yukata so bad but she is too stubborn to wear it.

I bet Yozora would be uber beautiful in yukata. If only she wasn't that stubborn...

Now I know how did Yozora ended up having short hair after her waist-length hair got burnt by the fireworks. This incident however being both fortune and misfortune. The lucky part about it is it reminds Kodaka of his long-lost childhood friend whom he thought was a boy. The reunion of these two friends was so touchng that it made me cry in tears of joy.

This scene still makes me cry no matter how many times I've watched it. Yozora somehow looks more feminine with short hair. Talking about how things may have the opposite effect.

I did mention elsewhere on the net that I’d like to think that those two are now reunited no longer as friends but as lovers instead. I know some people gonna hate it for the ‘unwanted’ romance, not to mention that it might be unfair to Niku, but of course there’s still a chance for Meat if Kodaka decides to take the harem path. Well if you look at the previous episodes it’s usually Sena who ‘won’ the undeclared battles in getting Kodaka’s attention. Now it seems that the fate is finally favoring Yozora this time.

Yozora, you better start trying to wear yukata so not to lose to 'Meat'.

There’s only one episode left though and I’m really looking forward to how things will end between Kodaka and those two beauties (Yozora and Sena). If I were Kodaka and forced to choose only one, I think I might not choose any since choosing only one would only hurt the other, unless I’m allowed to choose both. Not that I’m greedy or what, it’s just that I think that’s the best choice to make both of them happy. Well maybe it’s just me but although Yozora trolls Meat all the time I think they’re “getting along” quite well :P

[Review] My Cell Phone Has Few Calls _| ̄|○ (BokuTomo ep. 07)

Delicious lolimouto (loli + imouto)

This is yet another BokuTomo episode that I can’t resist to write a review about. If you ask me what’s funny, of course it’s like what was written in my last preview, the way Yozora trolled ‘Meat’ :)

The Neighbors Club began their summer vacation activities like some other clubs. However as you can expect there’s nothing ‘normal’ about this club. Niku was always seen playing galge in the club room, Yozora with her literary books, Yukimura was crossdressing as a maid as usual…

Things on the first day was fine and Kodaka didn’t expect everybody would arrive before him so the next day he decided to arrive early. However despite his plan to arrive early the next day he found only Yukimura was in the clubroom while Maria was already left “for church work”. The day after day after that Kodaka learned that Yozora and Sena have something to do that they were unable to come.

Realizing that Kodaka proposed a plan for them to stay connected and updated about their club activities so they’d be well-informed if the members could not come. Proposal to use internet forum and social network were rejected by both Sena and Yozora. Then Rika suggested them to use their cellphones to contact each other. This is the point when everything turned really funny. Kodaka, whom I thought the only person in the club to have common sense and the right mind, isn’t really like that. He thought the cellphone was only for contacting home and family members, which is why he didn’t bother to leave his contacts to his ‘friends’ from his previous school.

Everybody's surprised expression when the 'Mad Scientist' told them that cellphone can do more than just for calling home and looking for karaoke spot.

The thing is even funnier about Yozora. She who have no contacts in her phone thought the phone was a tool only for discovering karaoke spot. She even thought exchanging data between phones via IrDA was just a legend :P She may talk high and mighty most of the time but she’s actually pretty stupid when it comes to ‘simple’ tech stuff like a cellphone :P And The funniest thing about this ‘discovery’ is they thanked Rika for the ‘revelation’ :P

Things aren’t pretty well for ‘Meat’ though. She don’t have a cellphone to begin with so as usual, to cover up her embarrassment she told everybody that she doesn’t need one. This is also surprising because she’s a ojousama and she could afford the best phone available if she wanted but yeah she don’t have any friend like the rest of the club members so this is may also expected :P

Of course Yozora wouldn’t let Niku talk big as she please because yeah we know she doesn’t people looking down on her thus she trolled her a little. In the end Sena bought a cellphone too, the one that matches Kodaka’s in both color and brand/model. I think  she wanted to make Yozora jealous but the first attempt didn’t produce the desired result. Things started to get funny again when Sena’s attempt to troll Yozora failed as Yazora trolled her first before she could even start. Sorry Niku but you can’t win against the ‘Evil Witch’ :P

Act quick Yozora! If you're late you might lose him to 'Meat'!

At the end of the episode however I felt a bit sorry for Yozora. Sena maybe always end up being the victim of her trolling but despite that this is the second time Yozora seems to be on the losing side (remember the last scene in ep. 06 where Sena invited Kodaka to her house?). She showed a sign of jealousy when Kodaka was helping Sena to get rid of message bombs she sent to her. At this rate she’s gonna ‘lost’ Kodaka to Niku.

So now, between Yozora and Sena which one I’m rooting for? Neither one, I want Kodaka to have both of them! I’m rooting for harem ending! :)

[Review] There Are No Flags at the Swimming Pool (BokuTomo ep. 03)

To some of you who are not familiar with my blogging style, let me tell you episodic anime review is not really my thing though I might write specific episode reviews sometimes (like this one). This doesn’t mean those episodes that I didn’t review aren’t worth reviewing but for me it’s better not to write anything about them if I’m not passionate enough because it would make the reviewing process worse than it already has.

I feel the urge to write the review for this episode because I think it’s damn funny. It’s a ‘Niku’ episode as I got to learn more about her innocence, and I got to love Yozora more too despite her harshness towards ‘Niku’ as I learned her possible connection with Kodaka in the past. In the scene where ‘Niku’ was found playing eroge in the club room, I was unable to hold my laughter to the point of annoying my housemates! Poor ‘Niku’. She who is now ‘addicted’ to games screwed up for relying on the internet for some recommendations and ended up with buying an eroge. However she managed to play it without being distracted by those ero scenes (she’s innocent on the inside anyway). That’s when Yozora interfered, started insulting the game and forced ‘Niku’ to read the dialogs aloud because she didn’t like how ‘Niku’ defended the game :p Yes, it’s a defeat on Niku’s side but LOL it’s really funny especially when Yozora began calling her names (see pics below) :P

"You succubus!"

"Flasher!"

"Bitch!"

"Walking cum dumpster!"

"Real Dutch wife!"

"Walking porn scene!"

It’s not ended there, later we’re presented with more ‘Meat’, and I mean there’s a swimming pool side featuring none other but ‘Niku’ herself! Sena has become too engaged with her games that she probably have lost sight between real world and 2D world, requested Kodaka to teach her how to swim. Sena is a fast learner and in no time she was able to swim quite well. Even Kodaka was amazed at her capability too. At the swimming pool Kodaka has proved himself as a capable and ‘manly’ person for being able to protect Sena from the guys who were trying to hit on her when they started to act violent. His ‘delinquent’ look really adds the “don’t mess with me!” aura on him which helped too. Actually it’s not entirely those guys’ fault; it’s Sena who was also too full of herself when turning them down and naturally those guys would fell pissed off for being looked down. Another manly remark of Kodaka is he scolded Sena for that. Sena somehow happy with that deep inside her because that was the first time a boy of her own age scolded her.

More exposed 'Meat'.

DAT ASS

LOL (but cute) :)

I had de javu when I saw this beautiful face. Yeah it's one of those anime faces that I could call 'beautiful' and not just cute :)

You don't mess with that dude!

And you don't mess with his little sister too!

In this episode it looks like both Yozora and ‘Niku’ started to get more attached to Kodaka and for me it’s a positive development. This anime may not ended with harem though but I hope it would somehow :) This episode also introduced us to Hanazawa-san Kobato “Reisis V. Felicity Sumeragi” (reminds me of Kuroneko from OreImo, and they’re both voiced by Hanazawa-san!). Even her appearance her talking style and goth-loli fashion also similar to that of Kuroneko though for being a loli she isn’t as ‘smart’ as Kuroneko but I like that.

[Early Impression] I have too many friends that I want to kill some of them

One of 2 fall anime I’ve been anticipating for is finally here (the other one being Ika Musume season 2).

Rewatchability factor: Medium

Characters I like: Sena the ‘meat’ a.k.a. ‘Niku’ (Niku is meat in Japanese)
Characters I’d like to beat to a pulp using a spiky baseball bat: None but that mad scientist seems to have high potential for this. I’m afraid she’d be a disgrace to the mad scientist title. I believe Okarin wouldn’t approve this just like how he disapprove Hakase from Nichijou.
What I’m in for: Loli
What I hate it for: (not applicable for now)
Other noteworthy remarks: Moe

Imagine people who have no friend join a ‘friendship’ club and start befriending each other. That’s more-less describes this anime.

To be honest I’ve been waiting for this anime even before the anime was announced/planned (that’s almost a year ago). It started with a doujin (instead of the official light novel and manga) and I quickly fell in love with it and thus my days later filled with activities like looking for fanart and more related doujin.

Although I haven’t really go through the source media thoroughly I already got an impression that this is something that I want to see. I read various kind of reactions towards it, the positive (biased), the negative (bitter) and balanced (neutral) ones and decided to make this to be among the tops in my list. Even watching the episode ’0′ (OVA) is enough to make me think that this anime is going to make me smile while watching it.

Character design is, as you expected, done by Buriki, the same person who did the character design for Denpa Onna. You might be interested why I like Sena as one of the characters. I’m not sure why either but I like the way Yozora addressed her as ‘Niku’. Since I haven’t really touched the source media yet the only possibility I could relate to this is her jiggling pair of ‘meat’ er, I mean oppai.

I enjoy watching the first episode so far. Will I get the visual novel/manga? Definitely but for now I’d be too busy collecting fanart and watching the anime. BTW I have a feeling that I might fall in love with Sena just like I did with Mami-san :P
