[Final Impression] The Meaning of a Bite, Neverending Days and a Musket Shot (Sankarea finale, NatsuKise finale & Sengoku Collection ep. 13)

[FFFpeeps] Sengoku Collection - 13 [10bit][E748BEA5].mkv_snapshot_17.33_[2012.06.29_22.06.44]

Today is one of my ‘busiest’ day in my anime-watching history because today alone there were 4 new anime episode for spring anime that I closely followed. They are Sankarea, Natsuiro Kiseki, Acchi Kocchi and Sengoku Collection, and they have closed their curtains today (with exception of Sengoku Collection of course). I have a mixed feeling for them and here I’m going to write some reviews as well as what I felt about each show now that they are over.

In the latest episode of Sankarea there was nothing much happened but don’t let the first 20 minutes fool you, which means you might as well have to watch it till the very end. Rea decided to return to school and she already take her belongings from her house while Furuya will have to try his best to preserve her body. On the other hand Ranko and Rea have ‘vowed’ to become a rival in getting Furuya but in the end of the episode Rea suddenly bite Furuya near his lips and suck his blood like a vampire!

Zombie in yukata

No matter how I see it the last scene in this last episode gave me a hint that a second season is possible (which I hope they better do it or I’ll hate them forever!). I know the manga is still ongoing and the anime makers might not get the green light to make a plot twist like the one we saw in Tasogare Otome x Amnesia but I want to see what blood has to do with this zombie. Human blood might be the last ingredient to complete the resurrection potion or in other words, the only way to keep Rea ‘alive’!

Natsuiro Kiseki was another anime I never missed that has just came to an end. It was a so-so, wasn’t that good if I have to say and might be ‘unwatchable’ too at times because moe is not my thing. However I love to see the miracles that happened throughout this show and I have to admit that there were times I feel moved when I saw those girls dealing with the ‘miracles’ and how doing things together made them becoming closer than ever.

No, Sengoku Collection has not ended yet and there probably still have another one or two episodes remaining. In this episode I was glad to see Nobunaga again where she was on-screen most of the time, together with a random oppailicious ‘stray’ girls named Ageha. As you might already know Nobunaga is still on her search for another ‘warlords’ to collect the “secret treasures” and you know what, she got another one this time but the way it came to her was a bit funny to me.

The usual “Important Information”.

So there was this “assassin” ninja girl (Zenjibo) from the Sengoku era hired by the other “warlord” (Yoshimoto) to assassinate Nobunaga. Although she was the “always hit” assassin, turned out that killing Nobunaga was not that easy, not because she was not good but because luck was always with Nobunaga (or should I say it was the luck she had by being with Ageha). And Ageha happened to be the one who ‘saved’ Zenjibo too when she first arrived in this era, making her a little reluctant to execute the task assigned to her.

Ageha on the other hand is probably a girl from a certain remote village who is too foreign to the city, and she’s probably been living a ‘homeless’ life until she bumped into Nobunaga. Quickly they became quite close to each other and somehow Ageha won a vacation package from a raffle. Right before departure to the vacation site Nobunaga was spotted by Zenjibo and she followed them to their destination.

DAMN! DAMN! DAMN!

After repeated failed attempts to kill Nobunaga, Zenjibo finally showed herself in front of them (more like she did that because she was jealous of the ‘accident’ as shown above). Nobunaga however took that opportunity to ‘steal’ her secret treasure though I don’t know how many of them she had collected so far (I’ve stopped counting them anyway). After that Nobunaga left Ageha and she ‘entrusted’ her to Zenjibo because she thinks they are better together.

Next week: Oppai Collection

I’m not sure how many more episodes left for this show and I don’t bother to check the website either because I don’t mind if it still have another 13 episodes left. Another anime that has just ended is Acchi Kocchi, a cute kitteh anime I never missed too but never even once wrote a review about. Well there wasn’t any story/plot to write a review about to begin with but it was fun to watch, probably because I love cats :P Let’s hope for the wonderful summer anime as well.

[Review] My nurse is a zombie and my zombie is a bunny girl (Sankarea ep. 11)

[Hadena] Sankarea - 11 [720p][64B39F4F].mkv_snapshot_10.27_[2012.06.22_19.30.59]

Farewell to the asshole (and I hope for good)

This show was absent last week due to some reason I didn’t really care about (or didn’t really pay attention to) because I know it was just absent for a week, and there was the OVA to fill the gap too (read my review here). At least it didn’t get delayed several weeks due to another earthquake or something (like what happened to Madoka Magicalast year). This episode made me kinda relived or satisfied though there were some asshole moments in the beginning, which I’m going to explain next (though I kinda thankful it happened, and you’ll know why).

My zombie is a bunny girl.

So the story proceed to where Rea’s father challenged Furuya to a fencing duel (to see who is the better person to protect Rea), while Rea arrived just in time hoping to stop anything bad from happened. To bad Rea was stopped by 2 asshole maids who then captured her and tortured, I mean costume-raeped her, thus we got to see Rea in bunny suit as pictured above. Actually with her strength she could have escaped earlier or even forced her way in but strangely she just let those people do as they please, as if she likes to get raeped or something.

Come to me, my zombie!

Well she did manage to escape after that though I wish she could have inflicted some serious injuries to those asshole maids as a lesson not to mess with her. On the other hand Furuya did not really accept Rea’s father challenge but instead he keeps laughing at him, calling him pathetic or something I can’t really remember. He said many sarcastic stuff at him and naturally that old man would get provoked and unexpectedly stabbed Furuya right in his torso!

Yes, Rea was too late and Furuya was stabbed right before her eyes, something that even Furuya didn’t expect that asshole would go as far as killing people for his intention. I’m not sure though how fragile is the law and order system in the series though because it seems like Rea’s father wouldn’t mind killing people as if his wealth could save him from the following consequences to his action. However him stabbing Furuya is actually backfired him, or rather revealed something that made him the instant loser in the duel he started himself.

Not sure if it was luck or what but Furuya somehow didn’t have any effect on Furuya as if he was a zombie himself, except that he was bleeding from the wound. At first (because of the OVA) I was thinking “I knew it! His mother must be a zombie and he inherited some zombie traits from her!” but I was half-wrong about that. I mean I was half-right because Furuya is now a half-zombie but the zombie traits were not inherited from his mother as I have thought.

A ‘knight’ in bunny suit.

Instead of ‘inheriting’ the zombie traits from his mother Furuya actually got them from the time where Rea licked his wound back then (I forgot which episode it was). However the dosage wasn’t fatal but enough to make Furuya able to stand serious injury like that, an injury that could have killed him if he was a “full” human. Actually at that point Furuya already won the duel but Rea’s father’ seemed to have forgotten about the rules tried to attack Furuya again, this time was to severe his head.

O|¯|_

This time Rea was able to save Furuya and at the same time stopped his father from doing something stupid that he finally orz-ing and accepted defeat. Then he learned that he never fulfilled Rea’s wishes all these times but only fulfilled his wishes he forced onto Rea. In the end he entrusted Rea to Furuya and he himself then went to a journey to find a ‘cure’ to Rea’s ‘disease’ but not before he gave a warning to Furuya not to take her chastity.

Right after receiving the warning from Rea’s father, Furuya collapsed due to the ‘zombie poison’ lost its effect and the injury he sustained earlier began to take its toll on his body. The next thing happened is when he regained consciousness he was already in his room with Rea and the asshole maids around him. Soon after that Ranko also arrived after learning that Furuya has gotten himself some serious injury.

For Ranko it was like a perfect time for her to show to Rea who is the right person to become Furuya’s lover. Not only she moved her body in such a way that shows her ‘superior’ proportions but from her words also she hinted that she has the all the rights to become Furuya’s partner. For Rea she got the message and learned that Ranko loves Furuya, probably as she does, though as of new she has yet to realize that she loves him too.

After Ranko showing all that all I can think is the next episode would be about love triangle or something but for now I can’t even say Rea is having an advantage despite having her father’s approval, living under the same roof with Furuya and Furuya loving zombies. Of course I’m rooting for Rea x Furuya but before that I want to see an episode where she admitted that she has a feelings towards Furuya, regardless it was in front or behind him. With only 2 episodes left, I really hope there will be a season 2 or something.

[Review] Chitandamn & Zombie Oppai (Hyouka ep. 08 & Sankarea OVA)

Chitandamn annoying...

I guess this is the first time in weeks that I watched Hyouka on time instead of delaying it several days like I did in the past few weeks. Not that this episode was interesting or anything but I just happen to have extra time to spare to watch it upon arrival (in fact the first 2 minutes felt like crap as it was filled with boring scenes of someone texting and IM-ing). This episode is about the classics club investigating “the mystery of another mystery”, except that they didn’t investigate it.

Houtarou should learn to make that face more often.

So this class 2-F was making a mystery-thriller movie but the scriptwriter stopped halfway so the production was currently on hold. Because of that the class rep (Fuyumi Irisu) invited the club to ‘preview’ the half-finished movie (which was actually to make them find the mysterious culprit in the movie so that the movie could be finished). Turned out that Irisu and Chitanda know each other so it’s just natural for ‘news’ about Houtarou reached her thus she wanted to seek help from the club (or Houtarou to be specific).

There's nothing wrong with your eyes; I just shopped this image.

So did they manage to find the culprit? No, or it would be more accurate to say that Houtarou refused to work his brain for that this time. However the club (or Houtarou if you ask me) agreed to observe other wannabe detectives to do the job instead.

Sankarea the prequel

I don’t always write a review for OVA and this might be my first time either (I don’t remember much about writing OVA reviews before this though). Since Sankarea is the series I follow closely despite having many complaints about the story/setting I decided to write this review anyway. After all this OVA features bare boobs (READ: NIPPLES), something you would never get from the aired episodes (or maybe it will be in the upcoming episodes but we have yet to know about that).

This is only a small part of it.

So turned out that Furuya and Rea did meet each other albeit not in a situation that would allow them to see each other clearly and remember. However the main point of this OVA was to bring the audience to the point Furuya found the ‘recipe’ or ‘prescription’ of the zombie potion. Other than that, if anything it was how Furuya’s father refused to talk more about his deceased wife (Furuya’s mother) and there was a hint that she probably has something to do with zombie.

This is not even made half of the "special treatment" in this OVA.

So do you like what you see above? Well I have no intention to turn this blog into a hentai or ecchi blog so of course you won’t find any nipples here (because I only made those available to invited personnel only). I could show you but you would have to befriend me first; how’s that?

[Review] It’s all about the mothers (Sankarea ep. 10)

So she's just a stepmother?

Finally it’s the continuation for episode 08 after we were served with a filler ‘imouto’ episode last week (episode 09 wasn’t that bad either but I wished the storytelling and the execution was more straight forward and put more focus on the main plot instead of side stories). As we can see Furuya is now confined in the Sanka’s residence. From there Rea’s ‘mother’ revealed that she is not Rea’s real mother but was there for the sake of being a mother figure to Rea.

Loli Rea

The truth is Rea’s mother was actually a girl we could call “Katawa Shoujo”. This episode tried to make the audience to sympathize with Rea’s father but for me he is still an unforgivable asshole that needs to be castrated. I can’t forgive anybody who make his/her upbringing being the thing to blame for any negative thing that they do.

[Review] Zombie x Imouto (Sankarea ep. 09)

Not from X-Files.

So what happened between the last week’s incident and this episode? Although I’m kinda thankful that this is an imouto episode but it’s just a filler episode like ep. 07 (Ranko episode). In other words the continuation for episode 8 will probably happen in episode 10 (assuming that it is not Rea’s mother episode) or probably the episode after that.

An imouto episode. I couldn't say no.

I’m half complaining though because there wasn’t much interesting stuff happened other than Mero and her friends trying to investigate the zombie mysteries. At least it was better than Ranko episode (ep. 07) because we could see Rea’s being given enough screentime as I’ve always wanted it to be. There was no fanservice though, which is I think quite unusual for this show.

When Mero called her "Mama".

I guess the most interesting part about this episode is when Mero reminiscing the little time she spent with her mother in the past. Despite not having much memories about her mother Mero actually wished that her mother was around. That, and because she felt her mother’s vestiges from Rea, for a moment she was lost in her thought and unconsciously called Rea “Mama”.

At certain point in this episode I had the thought that Mero’s mother was also a zombie? Oh well that’s not important for now. What I really wanted to see is what would happen to Furuya after he was abducted.

[Review] Being Sankarea is no freedom (Sankarea ep. 07 & 08)

Being Sankarea is being taken away

So why isn’t there a review for Sankarea 07 last week? I could say that I decided to make a combined review with episode 08 but the more accurate reason would be because there was no Rea in that episode! It was a Ranko’s episode but that episode has gave me a new perspective on her though there wasn’t any scene worth a snapshot (there was loli Ranko but I didn’t feel the urge to take snapshots either).

At least now I’m kinda feel sympathy for Ranko and I think it’s just right for her to treat Furuya like that because he deserves it. I mean in a sense Furuya is a jerk too for being too unrealistic and ignored Ranko. If you don’t get what I’m saying then I suggest you to read my reviews for the first few episodes of this show.

Give us back those beautiful blue eyes dammit!!

So in this episode Rea and Furuya went shopping, which is something that has to be done or else Rea would have to keep borrowing Ranko’s clothes or even worse (or better) she’d have to stay naked! Well it’s also ok if she just wear the same outfit all the time since zombies don’t sweat. If possible Furuya wouldn’t take Rea out since the hot weather is bad for her ‘dead’ body but then he thought of a ‘trick’ where Rea could wear a coat and load it with dry ice to keep her body cool so that she could go to school as well.

One thing both Furuya and Rea didn’t realize though is they’ve been tailed all the time by the people sent by Rea’s father. They were waiting for the right time (until Rea was alone) to capture her but luckily Yasutaka appeared at the critical time thus delaying the process of capturing. Those people then decided to keep watching those two and stupid Yasutaka, he then brought Rea outside of the shopping complex and that given the chance for those ‘abductors’ to try executing their plan again.

Gone shopping with a zombie.

Capturing Rea however proven to be a difficult process because as a zombie she doesn’t have strength limiter and then ‘defeated’ those abductors. Furuya, while looking for Rea then arrived from hearing her screaming for help. Too bad though since they were failed to capture Rea those ‘abductors’ then captured Furuya and brought him to Rea’s father.

I’m afraid that Rea’s ‘sick’, psychotic father would do what he planned to do to Furuya. He still didn’t give up on Rea and even worse is he didn’t feel any guilty over what happened to Rea back then. Now if only Rea, with her limiter-off power could smack her father and have him being the one castrated instead.

Staring at the moon, and being stared at at the same time :P

[Review] Sankarea, 2 days later…

5 episodes later... or is it "6 episodes later"?

Welcome to the 6th episode review for Sankarea. I guess this episode is quite a turning point for almost everybody in the show, apart from Rea’s turning into zombie in the 3rd episode. I said a turning point because everybody now knows that Rea is in Furuya’s house.

Zombie oppai

Despite that the only one who knows about Rea’s zombie status is Ranko because she knows well that Furuya has successfully “zombified” Babu. However she wasn’t aware about the circumstances behind it and seemed to be not interested to know the details. Furuya also got a green light from his father to let Rea to stay with them but that was only because his father thought Furuya had finally think about things other than zombie, although it DOES have something to do with zombie.

Not zombie oppai

In the last episode we saw how Rea acted not like herself. Turned out that it was the result from the potion effects deteriorating thus her neural and motor functions didn’t work properly. It’s more-less like she was sleepwalking or something like that.

Homemade AV in the making?

Now it’s confirmed that Furuya’s grandfather was the one responsible for ‘inventing’ the original potion. In one occasion he momentarily gained his sanity and explained to Furuya that the potion isn’t perfect and the next step is up to Furuya. For now the only way to slow down the decaying process of Rea’s body is to keep feeding her with hydrangea leaves, which she already began to like it naturally.

"Please take care of my body".

I can’t forget how I feel like to raep-’n'-slap Ranko when she ‘accidentally’ hit Furuya’s grandfather’s head that he returned to his senile mode again, right when he was about to explain the better parts about the potion. For Furuya knowing that much is enough for now but what really disturbs me is he’s still being observed by Rea’s father’s minion. Either it’s just a pure observation or waiting to execute the original plan to execute him, I don’t know; I just hate that guy.

Bonus pic (not from the show)

Not sure if it’s just me but after becoming a zombie Rea seemed to have developed a liking towards blood? I mean while taking a night stroll she saved Furuya from getting hit by a car and injured him in the process. No matter how I look at it she seemed happy while licking Furuya’s wound. Am I wrong?

[Review] Being a zombie… means… more suffering? (Sankarea ep. 05)

The good thing that happened in this week’s episode is, something didn’t happen. I mean there was no screentime for Rea’s idiobsessive (idiot + obsessive) father. The bad thing about it is, bad things still happen.

Worried about Rea’s condition Furuya didn’t have any choice but to keep Rea in his room (and hide her in the closet, literally turning his room into an “upstairs grave”) while setting the air-cond to the coldest temperature possible. He have to do it that way until he found a way to prevent Rea from ‘rotting’. In an attempt to ask her little sister (Mero) about embalming method he got nothing in return except drawing suspicion.

Rea’s loss has caused an uproar in the Sanka’s residence and Rea’s family being the regular customer to Ranko’s family business got a few words from it. Though she never suspected Furuya for being related to that incident she did get the idea that how Furuya and Rea have met and known each other for a while. She just went to visit Furuya as usual though.

Back to Furuya, it seems like he isn’t out of chance to save Rea. His senile grandfather is probably the one who ‘invented’ the mysterious ‘prescription’ for zombie potion he found back then (that he used to make the zombie potion to resurrect Babu). Too bad with his grandfather’s senility there’s no way for him to get the answer he wanted anytime soon.

Ranko, after visiting Furuya immediately returned to the house as she took the chance to borrow some DVDs from Furuya. Since it was something she’s always been doing she just entered Furuya’s room without Furuya knowing it. of course she met Rea there and naturally she freaked out.

Furuya who heard Ranko’s scream quickly went to his room, only to find out Ranko was struggling under Rea’s ‘assault’. Rea looks like she wasn’t herself but what’s more surprising is upon seeing Furuya she quickly turned to him and… Kissed him!! I’m not sure was happening to Rea; it’s as if she’s just sleep-walking but if you ask me she looks like some zombie wanting to bite her victim to spread the zombie virus or something.

[Review] Being Sankarea is… sleeping? (Sanka Rea ep. 04)

What do you think that Rea is now back ‘alive’? (not really alive but being ‘undead’). Although it’s like a dream comes true to Furuya (in terms of meeting a zombie girl), like I’ve said many times before, I hate that idea. Not the idea of resurrecting itself but I hate that he feels “it’s a success!!” because the ‘winning’ that I wanted to see is the winning against Rea’s father.

Being zombie is arousing.

Looks like Rea’s father hasn’t given up on her and he is going to do something about Furuya. Somebody please kill that man already, or let some super tough gays to fuck him. Although I hate Furuya ‘celebrating’ his success, I’m also worry about what Rea’s father going to do with him (he even ordered his aide to castrate him back then).

DAT IMOUTO

That is not the only thing I have to worry because we can see something ‘bad’ is happening to Rea already. Her body is literally starting to ‘decompose’ like what a normal corpse would do. Not sure what Furuya will do about it but he will definitely do something to protect Rea… (or Rea’s body to be exact).

Zombie in heat.

[Review] Being Sankarea would be more interesting if….. (Sankarea ep. 03)

Being zombie is no suffering.

It took Rea three episodes for her to become a zombie. I think it would be better if they made her a zombie only towards the end of the anime (even Madoka was turned into mahou shoujo only at the end). I mean the built-up anticipation would worth it. Or at least give some sort of the feeling of no hope that there will be any zombie, instead make it feels more like a story about a boy who loves zombie and remains like that. You know what? The surprise that comes when a zombie suddenly born at the end of the series would leave the longer lasting effect.

So she was killed and not died from suicide as I have thought before. And even more interestingly is, it was caused by her own greedy father (serves him right). Yes, Rea fell off from the cliff was clearly being his fault though I can’t accept it that he still want to have Rea all for himself even after what had happened. He is the one who needs to be castrated, no Furuya.

The end (not)

Oh I got goose bumps from watching that scene; it reminds me of the similar accident I had last year (and barely made it alive, after a week comma). Thinking of that made feel grateful if that zombie potion was exist…

This could become a meme.

Once again sorry for yet another rushed review. My big sis is still around so it’s just natural for me to serve her as my VIP guest.
